Damage and repair

It’s never fun when your lease vehicle gets damaged. That’s why we want to repair the damage for you as quickly as possible.

Report the damage first

If your car is damaged, it is vital that you report the damage to us as quickly as possible, or at least within 48 hours. See the situations below to find out which one applies to you, and report the damage to us. If you have any questions , please feel free to contact Driver Care. We look forward to assisting you! 

My car won’t drive anymore

If it’s not safe to continue driving in the car, then we recommend that you contact our emergency helpdesk directly by calling +31 (0)20 658 30 00. The helpdesk will call emergency services, register the damage report, and arrange replacement transportation, even abroad.

 

Damage involving another party

schade_met_tegenpartij_410x410_hash0bcbfbIf another party is also involved in the damage, then you are required to fill in the damage claim form together with the other person. You can add a copy/photo of the front and back of the document to the damage report in My ALD or e-mail it to drivercare.nl@aldautomotive.com.  You can also use the Mobielschademelden.nl app for iOS or Android smartphones.

It is vital that the damage form describes how the damage occurred as accurately as possible. You can also add photos of the damage and the situation, which can help determine who is at fault. We will then forward the damage form and photos to a ‘claim administrator’, who will consult with the other party’s insurer to determine who is at fault. 

Notify the police

Naturally, we hope that you will never face such an unpleasant situation with your lease car. But we recommend that you contact the police in the following situations:

- in the event of disagreement or doubt about who is at fault;
- in the event of physical injury to the person(s) involved;
- if you suspect alcohol and/or drug abuse by the other party;
- if there is uncertainty about whether the other party has (valid) insurance;
- in the event of failing to stop after an accident;
- in the event of an accident abroad.

 

Damage without another party

pechhulp_410x410_hash0bcbfbIf only your vehicle is damaged and/or no other party is involved, then you can easily report the damage via My ALD. If the vehicle is also insured by ALD Automotive, then you do not need to fill in a damage form. Your employer may have chosen to have the vehicle insured by another company. In that case, we recommend that you do fill in the damage claim form. If this is necessary, you will be notified when you submit the damage report via My ALD. You do not need to add the damage claim form immediately; you can also add it after you submit the report. To report damage, you can also contact Driver Care on +31 (0)20 658 30 80.

 

Theft

Diefstal-melden_410x410_hash0bcbfbIf the vehicle is stolen, you must report the theft to us immediately at +31 (0)20 658 30 80 and file a police report as soon as possible. You can report theft of audio and/or communications equipment (incl. navigation system) using a damage claim form. You can add a copy/photo of the front and back of the document to the damage report in My ALD or e-mail it to drivercare.nl@aldautomotive.com.  You can also use the Mobielschademelden.nl app for iOS or Android smartphones.You still need to file a police report.

 

Windscreen damage

ruitschade_410x410_hash0bcbfbIf you have a small crack or chip in the windscreen, then you don’t need to report it to us. You can make an appointment at KwikFit, Glassdrive of CarGlass directly via My ALD. If you prefer to make an appointment by phone, please contact Driver Care on +31 (0)20 658 30 80. If the damage is too severe to continue driving safely, then you can contact KwikFit, Glassdrive of CarGlass directly so that they can repair the damage at your location. 

 

Damage repairs

onderhoud_410x410_hash050b7fNaturally, you want to drive in a car that is free of damage. After you have reported the damage to us, you can easily schedule an appointment at one of our service partners to have the damage repaired. In My ALD you can easily find the nearest service partners and you can immediately schedule an appointment. Unless you or your employer have made other arrangements, you will be given a replacement rental car if a repair is going to take more than 24 hours.

Schedule an appointment to have it repaired, and your car will be as good as new in no time!

Insurance and damage to possessions

Liability insurance, comprehensive insurance and passenger insurance are included in the lease contract as standard. However, you or your employer may have made alternative arrangements. Please take into account that your possessions, items that you are transporting, separate private accessories, communications equipment and damage that you cause while driving in speed trials or competitions, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicines, are not insured.
