How far do these new electric beauties go?

Are you looking for a lease car, and considering opting for an electric model? Or are you just a great fan of beautiful, sustainable cars? ALD Automotive has created another informative overview of the latest electric cars and their ranges. We’re interested in your brand and model preference!

Hyundai Kona Electric

If you drive long distances and want to get out on the road without any worries, then the Hyundai Kona Electric is a good option. This model has a high price-quality ratio, is already available this month, and has a range of 449 kilometres. There are a number of small improvements in the new Hyundai Kona, compared to its predecessor, and the most important of these is the three-phase on-board charger. This makes the Kona faster to charge, both at home and at public charging stations.

Volvo XC40 Recharge

The Volvo XC40 Recharge is the XC40’s electric sibling. Sweden’s Volvo guarantees a range of 400 kilometres for its first entirely electric car. The electric Volvo will come onto the Dutch market in March 2020. When at home, the car requires eight hours to charge to full capacity. However, the XC40 Recharge demonstrates its remarkable charging capacity when plugged into a 150 kW fast charging station, reaching 80% in just 40 minutes. That’s fantastic if you’re on the road a lot!

MINI Electric

The first fully electric MINI, which we’ve written about previously, will come onto the Dutch market in March 2020. The car doesn’t have a huge range at 235 kilometres, but it is fully charged within three and a quarter hours. It’s an ideal car for city driving (and naturally, for creating an impression). The most eye-catching feature of the electric MINI (also known as the Cooper SE) is its striking rims, which were exclusively designed for this model.

Opel Corsa-e

Opel is also following the current trend by investing heavily in electric cars. The German manufacturer will be producing many more electric models in the coming years, and has set the ambitious goal of going 100% electric by 2024. The first in the series is the Opel Corsa-e. This entirely electric car has a range of 330 kilometres, and reaches 80% capacity within half an hour of being connected to a fast charging station. The Opel Corsa-e will come onto the Dutch market in March 2020.

Volkswagen ID.3

You’ll have to wait a little longer for the first fully electric Volkswagen. The ID.3 is currently rolling off the production line in Zwickau, Germany, but isn’t due to hit the Dutch market until September 2020. The ID.3 is available in three models with ranges of 275, 345 and 450 kilometres respectively, and these are priced accordingly. The new Volkswagen might just become your new best friend; the ID.3 comes with special headlights that greet the approaching driver with a friendly wink.
